Frequently asked questions
What JSON structure works best?
An array of objects. The columns are every key found across all the objects, in the order they first appear, so objects with missing or extra keys still line up - a missing value becomes an empty cell. An array of plain values becomes a single "value" column, and an array of arrays is written row by row without a header.
What happens with nested objects?
Nested objects and arrays are serialized as JSON strings within the CSV cell. Flatten your JSON first if you need nested fields as separate columns.
Can I convert CSV back to JSON?
The tool works in both directions. Choose CSV → JSON and paste CSV with a header row to get an array of objects keyed by the header, with every value as a string. Commas, semicolons, tabs and pipes are detected automatically, and a row with too few or too many fields is still converted, with a warning naming the row. Fields beyond the header are kept under keys named by their column position, such as column_4.
Is my data sent to a server?
Conversion runs entirely in your browser. No data is uploaded or stored.
Can I download the result?
Yes. Download saves the result as converted.csv or converted.json, depending on the direction.
